Covid-19 and GreenAcres update

Over the last few weeks, we have been following the UK government’s advice on dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak. Following the government’s most recent advice about gatherings and events we are doing everything we can to stay open and available for families and Funeral Directors alike. With this in mind, we have had to make some difficult decisions as to how we operate our parks for the foreseeable future.
On March 26th 2020 the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 came into force. The Regulations were made in response to the serious and imminent threat to public health which is posed by the incidence and spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus. The Regulations relate to the exercise of powers conferred by various sections of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984.
Therefore, with immediate effect our park is now closed to members of the public, except for funerals or burials. Funeral services and burials can only be attended by immediate family as per previous Government advice.
If you wish to speak to a member of our team please contact the park.
At the time of writing this, funeral services will still go ahead as planned but social distancing will be observed and led by your Funeral Director. With immediate effect, we will no longer be able to offer any non-funeral related services as part of our service. Sfamilies will need to make other arrangements for these to take place outside of the park.
Our ceremonial buildings will remain locked at all times to general park visitors and will only be opened for funeral services. Some of our parks have an outside toilet and these will be made available for visitors and clearly signposted. Hand sanitisers will be in place and we would like to remind you to follow the NHS guidelines to handwashing which you can read here.
In the interest of safety, we are moving to an appointment-only system for families wishing to visit the park to make funeral arrangements. Without an appointment our team will be unable to meet with you.
For some our coffee mornings are a lifeline so that’s why it’s important to everyone in the park that we keep in touch and continue to support as many people as we can during these difficult times. We would love for you to join us and the rest of our ‘virtual’ coffee morning family for a chat on the first Thursday of every month from 10.00-11.00 am.
All you need to do is call 0208 080 6591 from your landline or mobile and tap in the meeting ID number which is: 283 500 273.
We can’t have a coffee morning without coffee (or tea) and cake so make sure you put the kettle on before you pick up the phone!
Supporting our families after the service has taken place is something the team at GreenAcres pride themselves on and over the last few years we have worked very hard at bringing our community together through events
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any question.
